How Serenity Sisterhood Initiatives collects, uses and protects your personal data, including donation records.

Last updated February 2026

What we collect

When you donate, volunteer, partner with us or subscribe to updates, we collect only what we need:

  • Your name, email address and (optionally) phone number.
  • Donation details: amount, currency, date, channel and the reference returned by our payment processor.
  • Messages you send us through a form on this site.

We never see or store your full card number, CVV or bank credentials. Card details are entered directly with Paystack, our payment processor.

Why we hold it

  • To process your donation and send you a receipt.
  • To reconcile our accounts and meet reporting obligations.
  • To keep you updated, where you have asked us to.

Anonymous giving

You may choose to give anonymously. We will still hold your contact details for receipting and accounting, but your name will not appear in any public listing or report.

Who we share it with

Paystack, to take payment. Our hosting and database provider, to run this site. Nobody else — we do not sell or rent personal data.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act you may ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it for accounting purposes. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Retention

Donation and receipt records are kept for six years to satisfy financial reporting requirements. Other enquiry records are kept for two years.
